⚠️ Notes About Results نتائج سے متعلق نوٹس

Savings are estimates and can vary based on sunlight, usage pattern, and tariff changes.

بچت اندازہ ہے، دھوپ، استعمال اور ریٹ کے حساب سے فرق آ سکتا ہے۔

If your consumption is low, bigger solar size will cap at your monthly units.

اگر یونٹس کم ہوں تو بچت آپ کے یونٹس تک محدود رہے گی۔

For best accuracy, use average bill and units from last 3 to 6 months.

زیادہ درستگی کے لیے 3 سے 6 ماہ کا اوسط استعمال کریں۔

CM Punjab Solar Panel Scheme – Bill Saving Calculator Guide

Electricity bills are rising fast in Pakistan. Many households struggle to manage monthly expenses. The CM Punjab Free Solar Panel Scheme offers a practical solution. If your monthly usage is under 200 units, you can get free solar panels and reduce your bill significantly.

This page includes a smart solar bill saving calculator that helps you estimate your savings before applying.

What is the Solar Panel Scheme Bill Saving Calculator?

The Punjab government launched this scheme to support low electricity consumers. Eligible households receive 1kW to 3kW solar systems at zero cost.

Key benefits:

  • No upfront investment

  • Lower electricity bills

  • Clean and renewable energy

  • Long term savings up to 20 years

This makes it one of the best government solar initiatives in Pakistan.

How the Bill Saving Calculator Works

The calculator uses your current electricity data to estimate savings.

You only need to enter:

  • Monthly electricity bill in PKR

  • Average monthly units (kWh)

  • Solar system size (1kW, 2kW, or 3kW)

Based on this, it calculates:

  • Monthly savings

  • Solar energy generation

  • Bill reduction percentage

  • Yearly and long term savings

The system assumes average sunlight in Punjab, which gives reliable estimates.

Example Calculation

Let’s say:

  • Monthly bill = Rs. 8,000

  • Units consumed = 150

  • Selected system = 2kW

The calculator will estimate:

  • Solar generation around 250–260 kWh

  • Up to 100% bill reduction

  • Monthly savings close to Rs. 8,000

  • 10-year savings in lakhs

This shows how powerful solar can be for small households.

Who Can Apply?

You are eligible if:

  • Your monthly consumption is below 200 units

  • You are a residential consumer

  • You have a valid electricity connection

If your usage is higher, you may not qualify for this scheme.

Why Use This Calculator?

Before applying, it’s important to know your expected savings. This tool helps you:

  • Make informed decisions

  • Understand solar benefits clearly

  • Compare different system sizes

  • Plan long term financial savings

It removes guesswork and gives you a clear picture.

❓ Questions about your savings?

Solar Savings Calculator FAQs

Quick answers about bill, units, solar size, and savings estimates

🧮 What does this savings calculator actually calculate?
+

This calculator estimates your monthly electricity bill savings by comparing your current consumption with expected solar generation.

✅ It shows:
  • Estimated monthly savings (PKR)
  • Solar generation (kWh/month)
  • Bill reduction percentage
  • Long-term savings for 1, 5, 10, and 20 years

It uses your bill and units to find your approximate per-unit cost, then applies estimated solar generation for your selected system size.

Why do you ask for both “Monthly Bill” and “Monthly Units”?
+

Because the calculator needs to estimate your average per-unit electricity cost.

Formula used:

Per-unit cost = Monthly Bill ÷ Monthly Units

Once per-unit cost is known, the calculator estimates how many units solar can offset, then converts that into PKR savings.

☀️ How is solar generation (kWh/month) estimated for 1kW, 2kW, 3kW?
+

The calculator uses an average production assumption:

Estimation used in calculator:
  • 1 kW ≈ 130 kWh/month
  • 2 kW ≈ 260 kWh/month
  • 3 kW ≈ 390 kWh/month

Actual output can vary with sunlight hours, panel quality, tilt, shading, and maintenance.

📉 Why are my savings “capped” sometimes even if I pick 3kW?
+

Because you cannot save more units than you actually consume. The calculator uses:

Logic:

Units Saved = min(Solar Generation, Monthly Units)

If your monthly units are lower than the solar estimate, the savings stop at your consumption level. This keeps the results realistic.

What does “Under 200 units” mean in this calculator?
+

This calculator is designed for scenarios where monthly consumption is under 200 units (kWh).

Why it matters:

If your units are above 200, the calculator shows an alert because it is meant to evaluate low-consumption households based on the set rule in your code.

If you want it to work for all consumption levels, you can remove the 200-units validation in JavaScript.

📅 How are 1-year, 5-year, 10-year, and 20-year savings calculated?
+

Long-term savings are calculated by multiplying the estimated monthly savings:

Calculation:
  • 1 Year: Monthly Savings × 12
  • 5 Years: 1 Year Savings × 5
  • 10 Years: 1 Year Savings × 10
  • 20 Years: 1 Year Savings × 20

This is a simple projection. It does not include tariff changes, inflation, or performance degradation over time.

🔍 How can I get more accurate results from this calculator?
+

You can improve accuracy by using realistic inputs:

  • Use average bill and units from the last 3 to 6 months
  • Check units (kWh) directly from your electricity bill
  • Avoid peak-season spikes and use an average
  • Consider any major change in usage (AC, heaters, new appliances)
Pro Tip: If your bill includes extra taxes/surcharges, your per-unit estimate can be higher, which makes savings look larger. Use an average for best realism.
🧾 Why does my “Bill Reduction %” look high or low sometimes?
+

Bill reduction depends on how much of your monthly units are offset by solar.

Formula used:

Bill Reduction % = (Units Saved ÷ Monthly Units) × 100

If your units are low and solar generation is close to your usage, reduction percentage can be very high. If usage is higher than solar generation, it will be lower.
